J. Thomas Pixton
Tom Pixton is a seasoned elder law and estate planning attorney with more than 25 years of experience advising families about how to find and pay for quality long-term care and how to preserve seniors’ hard-earned assets. He attended the University of California at Berkeley, Brigham Young University, and the University of San Francisco where he received his law degree in 1975.
Tom is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, WealthCounsel, and the Estate Planning and Elder Law sections of the Oregon State Bar. He is also licensed in Washington and California. Tom is a musician, private pilot, husband, father of 7, and grandfather of 23.
Joy Corgain has been a paralegal for over 10 years having worked in many different areas of the law from criminal defense to surrogacy to probate and estate planning. This diversity has provided her with a broad perspective on how to communicate and build relationships in order to help clients reach their goals. Above all Joy strives to make sure clients feel heard and taken care of.
Joy is a music lover, performer, and obsessive gardener.
With a degree in Marketing & Advertising, Daniel has over 10 years of frontline customer service experience having worked for international companies in roles as varied as Sales Representative, Copywriter and Account Executive. Daniel is a native Spanish speaker, and highly skilled interpreter with experience translating live judicial hearings, insurance company appraisals, and medical interviews of patients.
Daniel’s role here at Pixton Law is to be the bridge between you and our attorneys; answering emails, phone calls, scheduling appointments, assisting you with general questions and concerns, ensuring your needs are met and that your experience with our firm is exceptional. He also curates our digital presence via our website and Facebook page, regularly updating both with articles and links to help inform our community about the latest in estate planning and elder law issues.
Daniel has a passion for learning languages and in addition to English and Spanish is also versed in French and is studying Italian. He loves to travel, is a music aficionado, and avid reader.

John has been practicing law since 1987. He is an experienced attorney with expertise in Estate Planning, Veterans Aid and Attendance, and Medicaid eligibility. He currently sits on the Executive Committee of the Elder Law Section of the Oregon State Bar. John was recently a director with ElderCounsel, LLC, a national organization that provides services to elder law attorneys. He not only advises clients but has been a presenter for the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Veterans Advocate Group of America, the Certified Financial Planners Association as well as numerous state bar associations. His passion is to bring innovative planning strategies to clients and to educate other attorneys about them. John welcomes the opportunity to work collaboratively with you and your financial professionals to pursue optimal outcomes.
